The name “Canadian Campus Communities” or “CCC” means Canadian Campus Communities, Inc. and its affiliates, subsidiaries and related entities. Please read these Terms of Use, our Payments Policy, our Electronic Contracting Policy, and our Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Legal Notices”) carefully before accessing or using any CCC-branded or affiliated websites (the “Websites”) that display a link to these Legal Notices.

By accessing or using any features on the Websites, you agree to be bound by these Legal Notices. We may periodically change these terms without providing prior notice. So, we recommend that you read these terms carefully each time you access or use one of our Websites.

Applicable Law—Limitation of Liability Except as required by Canadian provincial consumer protection legislation, including in Quebec, or Canadian federal or provincial personal information protection legislation: (1) Any dispute relating to a Website or use or inability to use the Websites will be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, without regard to its conflict of law provisions, or the 1980 United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. (2) Canadian Campus Communities disclaims all warranties or conditions (whether express, implied or statutory) with respect to the Websites, which are provided to you “as is” for your convenience. We do not warrant that the content of the Websites will be accurate, uninterrupted or free of errors, defects, viruses or other harmful components. (3) Canadian Campus Communities will not be liable for, and you may not recover, consequential, punitive, special, incidental, or indirect damages from any claim relating to your use of the Websites.


Canadian Campus Communities (“CCC”) accepts these forms of payment: Visa, Mastercard, and personal cheques. If a credit card or your chequing account is being used for a transaction, CCC may obtain preapproval for an amount up to the amount of the payment. Billing occurs at the time of or shortly after your transaction. You agree that you will pay for all products you purchase through CCC, and that CCC may charge your credit card or chequing account for any purchases and for any additional amounts (including any taxes and late fees, as applicable) that may be accrued by or in connection with your account. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TIMELY PAYMENT OF ALL FEES AND FOR PROVIDING CCC WITH A VALID CREDIT CARD OR CHEQUING ACCOUNT DETAILS FOR PAYMENT OF ALL FEES. All fees will be billed to the credit card or chequing account you designate during the payment process. If you want to designate a different credit card or if there is a change in your credit card or chequing account status, you must change your information online in the Make a Payment or Direct Debit section of the system; this may temporarily disrupt your access to the system while CCC verifies your new payment information. All rent payments are final.


Your use of the Websites includes the ability to enter into agreements and/or to make transactions electronically. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOUR ELECTRONIC SUBMISSIONS CONSTITUTE YOUR AGREEMENT AND INTENT TO BE BOUND BY AND TO PAY FOR SUCH AGREEMENTS AND TRANSACTIONS. YOUR AGREEMENT AND INTENT TO BE BOUND BY ELECTRONIC SUBMISSIONS APPLIES TO ALL RECORDS RELATING TO ALL TRANSACTIONS YOU ENTER INTO ON THIS SITE, INCLUDING NOTICES OF CANCELLATION, POLICIES, CONTRACTS, AND APPLICATIONS. In order to access and retain your electronic records, you may be required to have certain hardware and software, which are your sole responsibility. CCC is not responsible for typographic errors.


Our goal is to provide you with an excellent customer experience. We will take reasonable measures to protect the privacy of our applicants, residents, prospective residents, and Website visitors. We collect personal information only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances. This Privacy Policy is intended to inform you of the information we collect and the ways in which we will protect that information. Information Submitted by Applicants

In order for one of our properties to process a lease application, applicants must provide some personal information. This information will be used to identify and consider the applicant for residency, and to contact the resident and/or the resident’s guarantor. We may also request contact information from prospective residents who visit or call one of our properties. This information may be used to contact prospective residents, or to inform them of news or promotions. The information you submit to one of our properties may be accessed by the property, and by Canadian Campus Communities and its affiliates in order to operate and manage the services, and to develop new products and services. If Canadian Campus Communities enters into a business transaction with another party that involves the sale, transfer, or merger of all or a part of our business or involves granting security over all or part of our business, Canadian Campus Communities may disclose your personal information to the other party for the purposes of the business transaction. In addition, your personal information may also be disclosed to a credit bureau or investigative agency during the application process, or to a collection agency or others in the event of contract default in order to collect a debt or to seek compensation. We will disclose your personal information without your consent in response to a subpoena, warrant or order of a judicial or governmental authority with jurisdiction. We may also disclose your personal information in response to a lawful request from law enforcement officials or other governmental authorities or if we have reasonable grounds to believe that the information is relevant to a breach of contract or laws or in other cases where we are permitted to by law in connection with protecting our legal rights or those of others. In matters involving a danger to personal or public safety, we may voluntarily provide information to appropriate government authorities. We also use and disclose non-personally identifiable, aggregate information to operate our website, understand user behaviour, develop new products and services, and other purposes provided that those purposes do not permit you to be identified.

Service Providers and Storage of Information

We use affiliates and third-party service providers to assist us in our business. These affiliates and third-party service providers collect information in connection with online payments, process payment transactions, facilitate communications, perform website analytics, and perform other services related to our business. Our affiliates may use your personal information for business planning purposes. Service providers are only permitted to use your information for their own purposes if that information is aggregated, statistical and de-identified, or if they have your consent. Canadian Campus Communities and its affiliates and service providers may process and store personal information in the United States and other jurisdictions. E-commerce information is encrypted and transmitted using industry standard encryption protocols. These transactions are processed by third parties and we are not responsible for their privacy practices.


Our websites may use cookies. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your web browser (if you allow) that enables the sites or service providers’ systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. You can set your Internet browser to refuse to accept cookies, but by doing so certain services may not function properly.
